Clifton Springs, Lysle F. Sanford age 87 of the Spa Apartments formerly of Rt 488, died unexpectedly on Friday March 7, 2008 at the Clifton Springs Hospital.

Friends may call on Wednesday March 12, from 4-7PM at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 13, at 11 AM at the Phelps Baptist Church with the Rev. William Reigle officiating. Private Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Sanford’s memory to the Phelps Baptist Church 28 Church Street Phelps, NY 14532.

Mr. Sanford was born on June 15, 1920 in Phelps, the son of the late Edwin and Mabel Ranney Sanford. He was a member of the Phelps Baptist Church and was a lifelong farmer. He was a councilman for the Town of Hopewell.

Mr. Sanford belonged to the Hopewell Grange #472. He worked for Davidson’s Shoe Department in Canandaigua for 17 years and for Bliss’s Grocery Store in Shortsville for 12 years.

He is survived by 2 sons David Lysle (Karen) Sanford of Clifton Springs and Bruce E. Sanford of Clifton Springs.

Grandchildren Tina Sanford, Eric (Lynn) Sanford, Adam (Melissa) Sanford Justin Sanford, Joshua (Ashley Scheele) Sanford, Tyler Sanford, Cody Sanford.
