There will be no prior calling hours, friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday March 17, at 10AM in St. Francis Church in Phelps with Rev. Edward Dillon officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Binghamton.

It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Phelps Community Food Cupboard, 68 Main Street Phelps, NY 14532.

Mrs. Fling was born on May 28, 1912 in Sharon Hill, PA. the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Muldoon Barthmaier. She retired from the Phelps Post Office. Mrs. Fling was a member of St. Francis Church and was active in the Rosary and Alter Society, and the Phelps Community Food Cupboard. She was also active in Crop Walks, was a member of the Phelps Service Club and a past member of Phelps Central School Board of Education. Mrs. Fling enjoyed playing bridge and pinoccle. She was a world traveler and was a member of the All American Field Hockey Team.

The family is grateful to Emma her loving and compassionate care.

She is survived by 2 sons Daniel A. Jr. (Donna) Fling of Geneva

Patricia E. (Wells) Bliven of Phelps

She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Fling, son George Fling and brother Joe Barthmaier.
