Peter and Mary Cheney are licensed New York State funeral directors. 

 

In 1995 Peter and Mary purchased what was then the Dewey Funeral Home. Out of respect for Mr. Dewey and the 40 years that he served the Phelps area they retained his name and and called it the Cheney-Dewey Funeral Home Inc. In 1999 the Cheney's decided it was time to look to the future and created what is now the Cheney Funeral Home. The entire facility has been remodeled and an addition was added in the rear of the building in 2002. Mary and Peter have always felt that this facility was built by the families that have placed their trust in them. Our main goal is to serve every family with respect and take care of even the smallest of details that make the funeral service for the deceased a positive memory.
