Phelps,
Caroline L. VanHemel age 96 of 1345 Ridley Road, died
on Sunday November 4, 2007 at the Clifton Springs
Hospital & Clinic.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM
at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps, A
mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Thursday at 10 Am in St. Francis Catholic Church in
Phelps with the Rev. Donald Curtiss officiating.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
Mrs. VanHemel was born on August 3, 1911 in Clifton
Springs, NY the daughter of the late Charles and Mary
Norsen Van Camp. She was a very active member in Farm
Bureau. She helped her husband run the family farm and
with their business Van Hemel’s Feed Store. After
their retirement she helped her husband in IBA as a
bookkeeper. Mrs. Van Hemel was a member of St. Francis
Church and an active member of the community.
It is suggested that contributions be made to St.
Francis Church 12 Hibbard Ave. or the House of John 14
Spring Street Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
She is survived by her children Raymond (Marcia)
Van Hemel of Coconut Creek FL.
Paul (Susan) Van Hemel of Alexandria V.A.
Carole (Robert) Jensen of Phelps
Mary (Ralph) Klinger of Camp Hill P.A.
14 Grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4
great great grandchildren.
Son in law Philip Crough
Sister Lucille Dickens of Clifton Springs
Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Van
Hemel, daughter Eleanor Crough, Grandson Jeff Van
Hemel and Great Granddaughter Chelsea Jensen. Brothers
and Sisters Alice Southwick, Madelyn Maslyn, Francis,
Lawrence, Leo, William and James Van Camp.
