Clifton Springs, Richard L. Dickens 89, of 2520 McBurney Road died Monday March 13, 2006 at home with his family by his side.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at The Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 Am in St. Francis Catholic Church in Phelps with the Rev. Thomas Mull officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. Dickens was born on March 30 1916 in Canandaigua, the son of the late James and Harriet McClouth Dickens. He was a member of the St. Felix/St. Francis Catholic community.Mr Dickens worked for papec for 25 years and retired from the Ontario County Courthouse. He was a member of the Clifton Springs Grange for 70 years. Mr. Dickens loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar everyday. He also enjoyed furniture refinishing.

It is suggested that memorial donations be made to the Ontario-Yates Hospice 756 Pre-Emption Road Geneva NY 14456 or the House of John 14 Spring Street Clifton Springs,NY 14432, or to charity of ones choice.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Lucille Dickens

2 daughters Yvonne Cook of Buffalo and Joan (Wayne) David of Newark.
