Carlton R. Beechler Obituary (1945

Phelps, Carlton R. Beechler Sr. 75, died on Friday April 17, 2020 at the Canandaigua V.A. Hospital. There will be no prior calling hours. Private burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Phelps. Due to the current circumstances a memorial mass will be held on a date to be announced at St. Francis Catholic Church in Phelps. It is requested that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter's Parish 12 Hibbard Ave. Clifton Springs, NY 14432 or the Phelps Historical Society 66 Main Street Phelps, NY 14532 Carl was born on January 24, 1945 in Batavia NY the son of the late Carlton A. and Freda Johnston Beechler. He was a graduate of Batavia High School, Monroe Community College, and received his Bachelors degree from Empire State College. Carl was a veteran of the United States Air Force and attended Ballistic Rocket Training School. He worked on the Combat Crew, 373 S.M.S. and the Titan II Nuclear Missile. Carl was a founding member of Elston Electronics where he was Vice-president and director of Engineering. Carl went on and founded Z-Axis in Phelps in 1989 and was president until his retirement in 2006. Carl was a member and past Parish Council President of St. Francis Church. Carl served on the Board of Directors at Clifton Springs Hospital, American Red Cross and the Phelps Historical Society. He was also Part-president of the Phelps Chamber of Commerce. Carl was an active member of the Phelps Community. He served on the Phelps Town Planning Board. He was the Deputy Town Supervisor and was a Town Councilman for 16 years. He was a member of the Phelps American Legion and Association of Air Force Missileers. Carl also belonged to the Society of Industrial Display Engineers. He was a Master Craftsman in many fields. Carl was a gentle man in life, but his quietness spoke volumes. Friends and associates knew that if Carl spoke you listened. His quiet demeanor touched many people, and he will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Carl handled his disease as he did his life, with dignity. He always thought about others, especially Judy and his family. Carl had a special bond with his four legged pal, Franklin, who was always by his side at home, and will be by his side again someday. Carl is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Judith Cotton Beechler Son Carlton R. (Lisa Blanchard) Beechler Jr. Daughter Leigh Evron (Guy) Vigneri.
